Summer 2019 was packed with adventures and memories from travelling solo to Spain for seven weeks to spending the month of august exploring Thailand two good friends it was an eye opening summer from extreme ups to some bumpy Thai roads I can say it was definitely a memorable one.
We set off Bangkok where one of our friends had already been waiting in Dubai airport for about 17 hours as the flight was £10.79 cheaper ...We finally reunited that night after a day of travelling and gathered in Bangkok , no disasters were experienced up to then so all was going great . The next day we got up early and got a flight to the south of Thailand to a place called Koh phagnan which was mainly known for its partying not so much its culture compared to what the rest of Thailand has to offer anyway we got through 2 days of craziness there and set off one phone down already and extremely experienced scooter drivers and limped on to the next location which was called Koh tao . This place was amazing we arrived up to the port with just a stretch of palm trees and clear blue waters as if we were entering a film set. We mainly just relaxed there to re charge and went on some boat trips where we snorkelled until the sun set seeing some amazing creatures above and below land, it was a memory i'll never forget and such a beautiful island from hoping into the back of taxi trucks just merely holding on for our lives and haggling every taxi man we came across no one was going to rip off us 3 and we made sure of it ! We definitely made our moneys worth over there as our friend Segun was the finance man of the trip using his exchange rate app making sure he was not being conned to every single penny !! . At this stage of the trip two of us had already been defeated by the Thai food and missioned on to the next island it was then we made the discovery of the trip which changed our lives for the better .. 7/11 ham & cheese toasties , now these toasties weren't like any toasties we've ever tasted , these were elite and the combination of strawberry milk was a whirlwind experience which came to about 1.20p in total . We stocked up every day as our main food source for breakfast and lunch . Koh Samui was a lot more commercialised compared to the rest of Thailand our friend Neasan was attacked by the Thai flu so only go to experience the 5x4 room he was in for those 2 days as me and shag set off on our scooters exploring what it had to offer.

As we finished with the south of Thailand we got a flight to Phuket .. we didn't know what to expect but we loved it .The highlight of this place was the arena ping pong table in our hostel where locals gathered to watch our ping pong battles which was definitely the main cardio source of our trip . The streets were packed with fakes where we haggled the owners below the price they originally bought the items for ... The Main Street was covered with 'wo men' who caught an eye for our friend Segun as he stood out with his 6ft4 dark appearance and was seduced by the name pink chocolate whenever he wore a pink vest on the streets which was very amusing !. We left Phuket and set off to my personal favourite of the trip Phi Phi. We arrived up to our luxury hostel located right the beach where the sand was golden and sun sets were like no others we've seen , this place was amazing and we spent the days relaxing by the beach and eating some great food. It was our friends 21st and no better way to spend it than a boat trip the Maya bay where 'The Beach' movie was set , this was one of the best days of my life and will never forget it ! One of the days we took a wrong turn on a hike which ended up being 2 hours instead of 20 minutes ... the view was definitely worth the turn and just sat there to take in the moment when the next thing we knew a monkey came out of no where onto a rock where 3 guys left their snacks for the day, as the guys tug of war'd the monkey for the food back one shouted 'I take this' which scared the monkey off, now while this was happening on the other side was an asian male mid 40s randomly shuffling with with his asics.. definitely one of the most random moments of the trip !.

After a long journey of travelling Thailand between ferries , scooters , flights and hikes we were shattered and ended the trip in Bangkok which felt like New York city just packed with people. Either way we had a great time and all left broke , battered and amazed but will never forget the memories made !.
What we took away from the trip was...
1- Remenez la coupe a la Maison is the best song of 2019
2- Ireland needs to invest in 7/11
3- Don't wear pink vests in Thailand
