My favourite Photographers

David Bailey is an English fashion and portrait photographer. Bailey socialised with actors, musicians and loyalty. John French opened up a lot of doors for Bailey as it took him on houses assistant in 1959 and later developed into being the leading figure in the swinging 60s London scene. All his imagery is simple black-and-white and captures peoples emotions through the lens characterised by stark backgrounds and dramatic lighting affects.

Craig Mcdean is a photographer and filmmaker who is renowned for his striking fashion imagery and portrait like style. He discovered photography by taking pictures of his rocker friends in the north of England. Mac dance photography feels like they’ve been meticulously created using a brush. The majority of it shoots are studio-based with portraits of the spectrum of all different types of people and goes back and forth between black and white with colour. From studying is imagery I noticed the re-occurrence of facial expressions resembling a nature of power and entitlement through the woman.
