Recently we've been investigating and studying different types of trends which occur through society be it fashion , culture , food , hairstyles etc . In 2019 I've noticed certain macro trends which stood out the most in terms of the percentage of people acquiring these trends how how influenced they've been through all dynamics of society.

The main macro trend which caught my eye this year was the use of fanny packs as a fashion statement in the younger generation of todays society . We see them daily scrolling through our news feed wether it be at festivals , travelling or just going about . This trend peaked during the year of 1988 and just shows how effective the fashion cycle really is . About 5 years ago if you dared to wear a fanny pack you would be the laughing stock of a conversation and would be generalised with the type of people that are hikers or explorers and would never be seen as a piece to add to your wardrobe .. Now we see it worn across the chest most people carrying it without nothing inside just to be involved in the trend of the style which I found particularly interesting how much trends occur through the recycle process of fashion influencing different types of trends.

Another massive macro trend this year has been the use of animal print throughout large stores such as Zara , Primark , Topshop . We see more and more influencers publicising this trend through all kinds of clothing wether it be skirts , t-shirts , jackets its been used through different variations and styles and is more linked to women's wear apart from mens wear again relating back to my comment on fashion recycling this style was seen again as a macro trend roughly in the 1960s around the time of the bohemian movement , it astonishes me how a print cant be passed throughout so many years as originally it was worn 1000s of years ago by African leaders of tribes to symbolise power and status and therefore brings confidence to the wearer .

Finally the last macrotrend Im going to touch on is mens hairstyles and haircuts throughout the years of different trends and styles representing different interpretations depending on the year and society . The most popular trend in 2019 is the tampered skin fade mens haircut, every teenager you see these days will 90% chance have a skin fade and the back of everyones head now seems to be identical .. This trend has recycled through by the military around the 1940s , 1950, nearly 70 years onwards we see this trend coming into play again . The harsh lines and slickness represent business and smartness in contrast to 2017 where the macro trend of mens hairstyles was completely different it was the mullet which gives off ore of a hippy laid back appearance to it .

Overall it is clear how macro trends are alive and evident in todays society between all aspects of life and those are just some of many wide spread macro trends out there .
